A printed magnetic whiteboard to promote the Family Integrated Care model within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The idea of FICare is to facilitate a partnership and collaboration between parents and the NICU staff, to promote parent-infant interactions, and to build parent confidence. This is achieved by promoting information sharing between staff and parents and by parent participation in their infant’s care.
We produced a printed magnetic whiteboard that included bespoke designed images and displayed the philosophy of care, mission statements and high light the pillars of the Family Integrated Care model.
This has now led to a request for us to produce FICare folders to hold information and share with staff as a training aid.
